Larmek was established in 1989, after Jarmo Juntunen and his associate acquired a local sheet metal component manufacturer in Finland. Shortly after, in the early 90s, Larmek grew from a local manufacturer into an international company providing customers on a global scale with precise and specialized sheet metal components. End-customer industries included leading mobile phone and elevator manufactures, telecom network equipment providers and other rapidly growing sectors at the time. In 2005 Larmek expanded its manufacturing presence to Estonia, operating a total of three manufacturing and warehouse sites in two countries.
AnCann sold Larmek in 2018, and at the time of the exit, over 70% of the sales went to international customers outside the Nordics. Today AnCann still owns and manages the former manufacturing sites of the Larmek group companies, both in Finland and Estonia.
